Failure

I tried today...tried something new...

Now it tasted really good to me. I enjoyed the seasonings and how it all tasted, but well the problem came up when I noticed my bf playing with his food...something he NEVER does...my heart just dropped and I felt this lump in my throat....I couldn't swallow my food. So I asked him..since he wasn't going to say it.."You don't like it..do you?" He continued to look down moving his fork around the plate...and he shook his head very slowly.."No".

Now I had to call my homegirl, who is married by the way, if something like this has ever happened to her because I was simply devastated! I just wanted to cry and everything..I'm emotional. Well she told me that this same thing happened to her but WORSE! Her husband throw her food away, went in the kitchen, made himself a sandwich and went in the living room! I was like WOW..at least my bf tried to eat it... as much of it as he could.

I just have to try harder.....I asked him what about it he didn't like but all he could tell me was that everything tasted...weird.

I just don't know what do it.....

UpDate

I know its been a long time since I've been on here. Well I haven't been knitting in a while nor reading any cooking recipes. But I have been creating some cooking recipes for myself. My boyfriend and I have been very creative these last few weeks and come up with some cute meals for ourselves. Stir-Fry is great because you can put ALMOST anything in it!! Yes nearly anything will work. I recently tried a spiral noodle, left over white rice, and left over broccoli. I throw it together and chopped up some chicken and cooked that on top of the stove. I added it all together and threw in some butter to give it some sauciness....and it was GREAT! It tasted a bit lacking but that was just because the noodles that I used really didn't have any favorite since they were Basel and green herb.
So try new things people and see what happens. Oh and I'm thinking about scrap booking!! But only time will tell! :)

Break the Mold

Mmmmm...the taste of mom's tender baked chicken!! I mean it just fell off the bone and melted in your mouth! Yet what was the rest of the meal...green beans, mash potatoes, or was it cabbage? I just don't remember the entire meal and that goes for ALL the meals I grow up eating back when I lived at home.
See my boyfriend and I cook for each other all the time and yes we've moved up from noddles and cereal on the weekends. We have cute little college meals of rice a roni, green beans, pork chops and maybe a roll. Yet most of the meals go in that order substituting green beans for a different vegetable and pork chops for a different meat.
Then that fateful day came when my boyfriend turned to me and said "Babe...is this how we're going to eat when we're married?" Alarms and sirens went off in my head!! I knew one day he would ask because I had been asking myself that same question for weeks! The answer of course was "No babe, of course not!" Yet I can't seem to get out of the routine of making meals such as that.
Now I'm on the hunt for recipes and different meals to create in the kitchen. I need things that are simple *when it comes to ingredients yet complex when it comes to presentation. I love a pretty plate... I found this website Food on Shine and one of the meals that stood out to me was the "Chicken Parmigiana" one. I love myself some chicken and I love preparing it as well. I'll try it out and see how it goes, but I'm still on the search of fresh recipes that my boyfriend and I will love.

1st Project

So here (left and right) is my work of art....well my first actual scarf! I think its going pretty good so far, I've been working on my gauge and trying to make sure it all looks the same. I've noticed that I do get tight around the edges but then my gauge goes back regular in the middle but then tappers off back tight again. My work overall is coming along quiet well though, I haven't had any trouble with it. I feel like I've accomplished alot in this past week and my ball of yarn is just getting smaller and smaller. Its really exciting watching something that you actually worked on come to life.
I'm planning on following an actual plan next time I make a scarf or anything for that matter. I don't want to try anything too large just yet but I do want to make a sweater one of these days. I guess that day will come when I get better at knitting. I mean when my craft is kinda molded into a good 76% and slowly moving up. Right now I would rate myself at a 12% when it comes to the skill factor and creativity. I just don't want to mess up anything at the moment so I didn't' try anything too hard. I didn't take any risk but the next project will defiantly be a step up!

Great Resource

As I was searching I found a very help site, from the help of another site. Lion Brand Yarn has great pictures and great information. I found out how to start my scarf off better through this site and I might even put a little design into it. Who knows but I plan to really have fun with this project and still keep it simple for myself. The site that I found that helped me find Lion Brand Yarn is Anne's site called Weekend Kits Blog. It has loads of information on it even if knitting isn't the only thing your into. She has scrap booking information and crocheting.
Maybe with some skill this will be my next project(to the left)...another scarf but it looks so nice! Its called the easy scarf .

Yarns of Orange

Finally!!!
I'm going to work on an actual project. After talking to a friend, I feel that it is better to just jump right in and let the mistakes fall where they may. I mean I can't keep practicing all day especially when I have the basics down. The color change and even adding color is something I'll have to put forth more practice in but everything else seems pretty solid with me. So I'm going to begin production on an orange scarf. I've started it off with 22 stitches and I'm going to keep it that width. I'll take pictures of my production as it gets further along. At the moment I just have a ball of orange yarn that I put together sometime yesterday. So let the project begin!!!

K1P1

I'm thinking I'm going to try out this Purl one more time. I'm loving the results though the Purl is really pretty and stitch is kinda easy. I'm just having trouble with the whole K1P1. I'm so messing it up. My beginning garment is looking very unorganized. I keep forgetting what I last did and then in the end it was a K when I should have been doing a P, so yeah if you know how to knit then you can get an idea of how my garment looks!! AHHH I just need to know how do I tell that I've just did a K instead of a P. Humm I'll keep practicing and put a picture up so the world can see my.....starter. Well I'm going to try to follow this video and see where it gets me.
